La finlandesa Valmet provee equipos de generación eléctrica a partir de residuos

Finnish pulp, paper and bioenergy technology and services supplier, Valmet is to supply a 22 MW waste boiler unit to Nybro Värmecentral’s new combined heat and power waste to energy plant in Transtorp in the southeast of Sweden.

Valmet to Supply 22 MW Waste to Energy Boiler in SwedenValmet explained that the waste boiler will utilise bubbling fluidised bed (BFB) technology and feature its Advanced Combustion Zone (ACZTM) low emission control to burn a wide variety of household and industrial wastes.

Nybro Värmecentral is a part of Nybro Energi a utility firm which is owned by Nybro municipality. In May 2013 Nybro municipality approved an investment in a CHP waste to energy plant for Nybro Energi.

According to Valmet, the technology it is supplying has been proven at 20 similar reference waste boiler units, and has now been further adapted for improved corrosion resistant and service friendliness.

Under the contract Valmet will supply and install the entire boiler unit with auxiliary equipment such as fuel and ash system, erection, commissioning, training and start-up.

Once operational the company said that the new waste to energy plant will account for about 70% of the annual heat demand in Nybro municipality, which is about 100 GWh, and will double the electricity production from the current level of 20 GWh to 40 GWh.

While Valmet did not disclose the value of its contract, it a part Nybro Värmecentral’s project which has a total value of around €54 million.

The facility is expected to be operational in spring 2016. Read More
